Hortense is a self-driven board-certified nurse practitioner with over 17 years of experience in health care. Hortense has worked in emergency, critical care, trauma, oncology, hospice & palliative care. After a few years of working as an RN, Hortense decided she wanted to specialize in senior care and pursued a career as a Nurse Practitioner, at South University, where she graduated with honors. Hortense then saw the need for mental health care and decided to pursue a career as a primary mental health nurse practitioner at Wilkes University.

Hortense believes in focusing on the whole person when caring for her patients. She is passionate about providing quality, patient-centered care while remaining mindful of her patients’ preferences and needs. Hortense is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that her patients receive the best possible care. Her patients view her as pleasant, knowledgeable, empathetic, and an active listener. James Sapp is over 11 years of working with women and men who have battled trauma, addiction, work-related stress, family issues, and mood related disorders. Offering client-centered using a variety of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing as well as EMDR and IFS skills.

Karen has been a dedicated professional in the medical field since 2017. She earned her Medical Assistant Certificate through Pima Medical Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2019. Driven to enhance her expertise, Karen became IV Therapy Infusion certified in 2022, further demonstrating her commitment to providing comprehensive patient care.

In 2024, Karen completed both her Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Health Care Administration from Pima Medical Institute, showcasing her determination to excel in the administrative aspects of healthcare. Her versatile skill set spans front and back office operations, as well as healthcare administration, making her an invaluable asset to any medical team.

Karen's career reflects her belief in second opportunities and her compassionate approach to patient care. She is known for her kindness, adaptability, and leadership qualities. Throughout her career, she has successfully overseen the operations of six clinics, ensuring efficient and patient-centered services.
